Our early learning and child care legislation has now become law.

Happy International Women’s Day! This year’s theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”, reminds us that advancing gender equality helps build stronger communities for everyone.

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it definitely has been a very busy one. I enjoyed spending a lot of time in our community, meeting with residents, students, business leaders, and other constituents at the many events held throughout the month.

The Prime Ministers of Australia, Canada and New Zealand today issued the following statement on reports of Israel’s planned military operation in Rafah.

We’re working with the City of Ottawa to fast track the construction of over 4,400 homes in the next three years. We’re building more affordable homes for Canadians, and stronger, more inclusive communities that leave no one behind.

Today, the Honourable Ahmed Hussen announced that Canada is providing an additional $40 million in funding for humanitarian assistance to address urgent needs stemming from the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, the House of Commons kicked off its 2024 session. I'm excited to resume my work on behalf of all residents of Kanata—Carleton, and working with my colleagues to tackle important issues including affordability, climate change, and challenges facing Canadians every day.

The Honourable Marc Miller today announced temporary immigration measures to support family members of Canadians and permanent residents from the region, as well as Israelis and Palestinians already in Canada.

However you are spending the holiday season, I hope you find time to pause, reflect, and recharge. 2023 hasn’t been an easy year for all. Please be kind to one another. Check in with family, friends, and neighbours, and seek help if needed.
