The interim Canada Dental Benefit is intended to help lower dental costs for eligible families earning less than $90,000 per year. Parents and guardians can apply if the child receiving dental care is under 12 years old and does not have access to a private dental insurance plan.

As we enter into December, the House of Commons will be working well into the evenings to fulfill our ambitious legislative agenda. This week, we have obtained foreign shipments of months’ worth of children’s cold medications to relieve the ongoing shortages. This medication will be available for sale at retail and community pharmacies as soon as posssible—within the coming weeks. The Ministry of Health is expecting more delivers over the next few weeks.

Inflation relief is being delivered across Kanata—Carleton today. I’m delighted to share that, through our government’s Cost of Living Relief Act, we have doubled the GST Tax Credit for 11 million Canadians for the next six months. This relief will help middle-class Canadians make ends meet while prices are high and household budgets are strained.

The Canada Greener Homes Initiative has issued $69 million in grants to almost 19,000 homeowners! Since the Canada Greener Homes Loan launched on June 17, 2022 more than 3,200 homeowners have applied for a Loan.

Today in the House of Commons, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Chrystia Freeland, will be releasing the 2022 Fall Economic Statement. The Fall Economic Statement will outline our government’s plan to continue building an economy that works for everyone.

To the three west Ottawa city councillors who serve in my riding of Kanata—Carleton, Cathy, Allan and Clarke, I look forward to working alongside them in our amazing community. To all the candidates who stepped up and had the courage to put their name on the ballot, our city is better because of them.

Immigration is key to helping businesses find the workers they need and continuing to grow our economy. The 2023-2025 Immigration Levels Plan will ensure that Canada continues to welcome immigrants at ambitious levels, with targets of 465,000 permanent residents in 2023, 485,000 in 2024, and 500,000 in 2025.
