The Regional Tables are an initiative between provinces and territories and the federal government designed to identify, prioritize and pursue opportunities for sustainable job creation and economic growth for a low-carbon future in the energy, electricity, mining, forestry and clean technology sectors across all of Canada’s regions.

The national body for cross-country skiing in Canada will distribute $284,317 to 12 Ski Clubs across Canada to support community-led projects aimed at removing barriers to increase participation in cross-country skiing for underrepresented groups, particularly Black, Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQI+, low income and newcomers.

Today, I joined Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Premier of Ontario Doug Ford, the President and CEO of Nokia Pekka Lundmark, and the President of Nokia Canada Jeffrey Maddox, to announce a new project from global telecommunications company Nokia that would help Canada successfully transition to the next generation of 5G wireless technology.

Today, Jenna Sudds, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, announced $500,000 to support crisis hotlines across Yukon. Ms. Sudds was joined by the Honourable Jeanie McLean, Yukon Minister responsible for the Women and Gender Equity Directorate, to announce the bilateral agreement.

Today, residents will receive the third quarterly installment of the Climate Action Incentive. Single taxpayers in Ontario will receive $93.25, plus $46.50 for a spouse and $23.25 per child under 19.

The New Horizons Seniors Program is a federal funding avenue for organizations that promote volunteerism among seniors, engage seniors in the community, expand awareness of elder abuse, and support the social participation and inclusion of seniors.

As of October 1st, all COVID-19 entry restrictions, as well as testing, quarantine, and isolation requirements for anyone entering Canada have been lifted. Masks will also no longer be required on transportation systems, including airplanes and in airport arrival areas.
