An Election Is Coming—Here’s What’s at Stake

You’ve probably heard the rumours: an election is likely to be called within the next couple of days. Why now? In this time of crisis, our country needs to be united in our fight. As we protect Canada from President Trump, and the senseless and unjustified trade war he has waged against us, we need a strong and clear mandate, and we need a strong leader.

In my opinion, Mark Carney is the leader Canada needs during these unprecedented times. He brings unmatched experience and steady leadership to unite Canadians, defend our sovereignty, and build the strongest, most resilient economy in the G7. Born in the Northwest Territories and raised in Alberta, Carney understands the values of hard work and community at the heart of our nation, not to mention his record of delivering results—steering Canada through the 2008 financial crisis, guiding the UK economy through Brexit, and leading global efforts on climate action.

But this election isn't about what I think– it’s up to you to decide who you think is best positioned to lead us through the real challenges ahead. When you go to the polls, it’s up to you to decide who you think will be best matched to stand up for Canada on the world stage, especially against the challenges posed by the Trump administration. 

One important change affecting our riding this election is the updated electoral boundary with Kanata being a new riding. Details can be found on the Elections Canada website. I’d encourage you all to check your eligibility and - if you have moved recently - update your Elections Canada address.
