Apply Now: New Horizons for Seniors Program
I’m excited to share that the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is now accepting applications for community-based projects!
Do you have a project that helps seniors in Kanata, Stittsville, Bells Corners, or Carp stay active, connected, and engaged in their community? Then we want to hear from you!
What is considered a project?
A project is any initiative that brings seniors together, whether by encouraging seniors to volunteer, providing opportunities to mentor others, raising awareness about elder abuse, promoting social inclusion, or improving community spaces and programs where seniors gather.
What is new this year?
Please take note of the following important updates for this 2026-2027 NHSP Call for Proposals:
Increase in the maximum grant amount: The maximum grant amount has been raised to $50,000 to enhance project impact and address inflation. A limit of $25,000 will be set for capital assistance expenditures to ensure some of the funding supports activities that benefit seniors.
Mandatory Canada Revenue Agency number: A valid Canada Revenue Agency Business number is required to apply under the 2026-2027 CFP.
Change in assessment criteria: Additional points will be awarded to applications from organizations with a mandate or mission primarily focused on seniors.
How to Apply
Organizations can submit applications through the NHSP online platform. For full eligibility requirements and instructions, visit the NHSP website or contact your local Service Canada Centre. Community members can also support projects by writing letters of support for organizations they believe will make a meaningful impact.
You have until July 14, 2026 to submit your proposal.
If you need guidance completing your application, our office is here to help. Let’s work together to ensure seniors in our community remain active, engaged, and celebrated!
