It’s been a busy and rewarding summer connecting with residents and businesses across Kanata, Stittsville, Bells Corners, and Carp. With Parliament back in session in September, I’m looking forward to being your voice and building on the conversations I’ve had with many of you about your priorities as our government gets to work this fall.

As we enjoy the height of summer, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to spend more time in our beautiful community, connecting with so many of you at events and get-togethers across our riding.

This fall, our new government will table Budget 2025, which will lay out our plan to build Canada strong and address the unprecedented challenges facing our country.

It’s been a fast and furious four weeks in Parliament, making great progress to deliver on the promises you elected us to deliver. Read my latest newsletter for details on this, and more.

This week, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced major investments to strengthen Canada’s Armed Forces. Canada will now meet NATO’s defence spending target of 2% of GDP — and we’ll do it this year.

I’m honoured to have earned the trust of voters to serve another term as your Member of Parliament. To the residents of Bells Corners, Carp, Kanata and Stittsville, serving our community is the honour of my life, and I’m looking forward to getting to work.

As we protect Canada from President Trump, and the senseless and unjustified trade war he has waged against us, we need a strong and clear mandate, and we need a strong leader.

This is a defining moment for Canada – how we act will affect Canadians for generations to come. I can think of no better team to do that than Mark Carney, and my colleagues who were sworn into Cabinet today.

The City of Ottawa will not be proceeding with newcomer reception centres in Nepean, Kanata.

As of today, we now have a National School Food Program, with every province and territory having signed agreements with our government.

Today, our government announced that the federal government has reached early learning and child care extension agreements with 11 out of 13 provinces and territories, ensuring families get all the supports they need so they can join the workforce or continue their career while raising their kids.

Our government will stand up for Canada, using every tool at our disposal – because our country is worth fighting for. The federal government will be here for you.

The Ottawa region is one of the largest tech hubs in Canada, with immense potential, especially in AI. With today’s investment in these six Ottawa companies, we are capitalizing on our brightest minds as they develop innovative solutions to support next-generation digital technologies.

In  this time when the U.S. administration turns to a protectionist agenda, and threatens us with annexation, we need to look out for Canada and Canadians before anyone else.

I know there are real challenges in front of us – but I'm a problem solver and I'm going to keep working for you.

Aging in place is so incredibly important because it allows seniors to maintain their independence, comfort, and quality of life by staying in their own homes or communities as they grow older. I’m proud of our government’s work to date and look forward to building on what we’ve already accomplished.

Whether through acts of bravery, strengthening our communities, or supporting the most vulnerable, I had the pleasure of recognizing 34 deserving individuals with the King Charles III Coronation Medal for their meaningful impact.

Our government is removing more than half of federal exceptions to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement to strengthen Interprovincial Trade.

Today I’d like to highlight some of the steps our government has taken to improve our universal health care system.
