A message to our community on Canada-U.S. trade negotiations
Good morning,
I know many of us in Kanata, Bells Corners, Stittsville and Carp are waking up this morning to the news about the Canada-U.S. trade negotiations and wondering what this will mean for our families, our local businesses and our community. I know that uncertainty can be unsettling, particularly for those whose livelihoods are directly connected to trade with the United States.
I’m grateful to Prime Minister Carney and our negotiating team for their continued leadership and for standing firm in defending Canadian workers, businesses and families.
Please know that we are working hard to understand and mitigate the impacts of these new tariffs, while continuing to build a stronger, more resilient Canadian economy and create new opportunities for businesses and workers here at home.
I encourage you to take a few minutes to read the Prime Minister’s full statement below, which provides important context on where things stand and the path forward.

I’ll continue to keep you informed as new information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Jenna
