Call for Proposals

Have an initiative you’re trying to get off the ground? Want to work for the betterment of your community? A number of opportunities for funding have popped up, and I’d love to share them with you. Take a peek below – they might just align with what you’re trying to accomplish:

Multiculturalism Anti-Racism Program (MARP)

Our office is pleased to inform you that the calls for proposal for Projects Funding Component of the Multiculturalism Anti-Racism Program (MARP) are now open! The last call for proposals was in January 2021.

The Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (MARP) supports the objectives set out in the Government of Canada’s Multiculturalism Policy (1971) and the Canadian Multiculturalism Act (1988). Since its launch in 1988, its activities have aimed at building an inclusive society that is open to, and respectful of, all Canadians.

The Project Component provides funds to community-based initiatives that address systemic racism, discrimination, or hate by effecting sustainable change to promote the value of diversity and foster inclusion and a sense of belonging in Canada.

Applications close on December 4th. To learn how to apply click here.

School Health Grant for Youth Program

Through this program, students ages 16 – 19 who are enrolled in secondary or post-secondary school are invited to apply for $1,500 in grant funding to promote healthy living in their school. The overarching goal of the grant is to empower youth to develop their own initiatives that encourage and promote healthy living in their schools and communities. Eligible applications will be approved on a first-come first-served basis until funds are fully expended, or until the deadline December 20, 2024, 11:59 AM EST.

Community Sport for All

Sport builds communities, stimulates economies and contributes to the overall well-being of Canadians and the country. However, too many Canadians still face barriers to participating in sport opportunities.

The Community Sport for All Initiative seeks to remove barriers and increase sport participation for under-represented groups, in particular, Black, Indigenous, racialized, and 2SLGBTQI+ communities, low-income people, persons with disabilities, seniors and newcomers.

National organizations, or those capable of delivering projects across multiple provinces and/or territories, are invited to submit proposals. Successful applicants will work with community organizations to deliver sport initiatives. The deadline to submit proposals is December 23, 2024.

Youth Mental Health Fund

Mental health is health. We recognize the significant mental health challenges faced by youth, which have been exacerbated due to COVID-19. We’re making sure our young people and youth are resilient and have the supports needed to succeed – and not fall through the cracks. The Youth Mental Health Fund was created to make lasting and meaningful improvements in the mental health of youth and their families.

To deliver on our commitment to make sure young people can access the mental health care they need we’re supporting community organizations that remain a lifeline for youth mental health. This fund will support community mental health organizations so they can add capacity, fill gaps, and ensure youth have the support they need.

Together, we’re making sure young people have the tools they need to succeed and reach their full potential.

The call for proposals is open now and closes on January 22nd, 2025. Details on the application for the call for proposals can be found here.
