Affordability Constituency Mailer
Delivered to residents’ mailboxes in September 2022, this mailout outlined important cost of living measures intended to support Kanata-Carleton residents during periods of high inflation.
From higher grocery bills to higher prices at the pump, inflation is squeezing household budgets. While inflation is a global challenge, it’s having real impacts on the cost of living here in our community.
Affordability is important to me, and I’ve heard from so many of you that reducing the cost of living is one of your top priorities, too. That’s why I want to ensure you have information about the federal benefit programs & tax rebates available to you.
Summer 2022 Householder
School’s out! I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the recent graduates. Hats off to you, and I wish you continued success in your future careers and studies.
With summer upon us, I want to wish everyone a wonderful summer! Exploring local and family camping trips to nearby campgrounds are favourites in my household! What memories will you be creating this summer?
Thank you to all of the residents who joined me at my various Town Halls and Rural Roundtables throughout the past months.
From Constance Bay, to Fitzroy Harbour, to Kanata, I’ve heard from residents throughout the riding. The issues you’ve raised are important, and I have shared your comments and insight with my colleagues on Parliament Hill.
Environment Constituency Mailer
Did you know? Transportation accounts for 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions in Canada. Fighting climate change and cutting pollution starts with getting more clean cars on the road!
Electric vehicles are environmentally friendly, and they make a lot of economic sense. Over their lifetime, electric vehicles can end up being less expensive than comparable gas powered vehicles. With federal rebates of up to $5,000 available, there’s never been a better time to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle! This incentive program has helped Canadians purchase or lease over 141,000 new zero emission vehicles.
Cost of Living Constituency Mailer
I know the rising cost of living has made many things more expensive, and can make it harder for families in Kanata—Carleton to make ends meet. Snarled supply chains are driving prices higher at the checkout counter. Buying a house is out of reach for far too many Canadians.
Inflation—a phenomenon that all major international economies are facing—is making things more expensive in Canada, too. Several factors have driven inflation up, including higher food and energy prices, supply constraints associated with the pandemic, and unprecedented demand for goods.
As a former economist, the rising cost of living and inflation are issues that are top of mind for me. Untangling Canada’s supply chains, mitigating inflation, and making life more affordable are issues that we discuss frequently in the House of Commons.
