Apply Now: New Horizons for Seniors Program

I’m excited to share that the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is now accepting applications for community-based projects!

Do you have a project that helps seniors in Kanata, Stittsville, Bells Corners, or Carp stay active, connected, and engaged in their community? Then we want to hear from you! The NHSP provides up to $25,000 in funding for initiatives designed by seniors, for seniors, and you have until September 17, 2025 to submit your proposal.

What is considered a project?

A project is any initiative that brings seniors together, whether by encouraging seniors to volunteer, providing opportunities to mentor others, raising awareness about elder abuse, promoting social inclusion, or improving community spaces and programs where seniors gather.

This year’s National Priorities

Organizations are invited to apply for funding that supports this cycle’s priorities:

  • Supporting healthy aging

  • Preventing senior abuse

  • Celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion

  • Supporting financial security

The NHSP’s Impact
Since 2004, the Government of Canada’s NHSP has supported over 43,000 projects across the country, helping seniors and communities thrive. Your project could be the next to make a real difference!

How to Apply

Organizations can submit applications through the NHSP online platform. For full eligibility requirements and instructions, visit the NHSP website or contact your local Service Canada Centre. Community members can also support projects by writing letters of support for organizations they believe will make a meaningful impact.

If you need guidance completing your application, our office is here to help. Let’s work together to ensure seniors in our community remain active, engaged, and celebrated!

Kind regards,

Jenna
