Mandatory Vaccination in the Federally Regulated Transportation Sectors
Vaccines are the best tool we have in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants.
That is why on August 13, our government announced that employees and travellers in the federally regulated transportation sectors will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
This week, Minister Alghabra provided further details on this requirement. Effective at 3 AM (EDT) on October 30, 2021, all travellers 12 years of age plus four months flying on domestic or international flights departing from Canada, as well as passengers on VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains, will need to show proof of vaccination to travel.
For a short transition period until November 29, 2021, travellers in the process of getting vaccinated will be able to show a valid negative COVID-19 molecular test.
Together, we will beat this virus and build a better Canada for everyone.
