I can’t remember a Victoria Day long weekend with weather as stunning as this past one! I was happy to spend it in our beautiful community with a very special visit to a new Andrew Fleck Child Care Centre at 415 Corkstown Road in Kanata that will be opening its doors to 73 little ones in a few weeks.
Building more child care spaces for families in Kanata
Yesterday, I visited a new Andrew Fleck Day Care centre in Ottawa that will be opening its doors to 73 little ones in a few weeks. Centres like this are part of our plan to create 250,000 new spots by 2026.

April showers bring May flowers! I always love this time of year - with longer days and spring blooms. Speaking of blooms, one of my favourite community events is coming up in May, the Grassroot Grannies annual plant sale. The Kanata United Church book fair is also returning - not to mention the local farmers’ markets.
Ottawa River Water Levels
Without significant winter runoff, the current water levels are unexpectedly high. I have proactively engaged the Minister of Emergency Preparedness on behalf of all those affected in our community and also requested an update from the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board (ORRPB).
