I’d like to start today’s update with a shoutout to my team who is incredibly busy behind the scenes, assisting Kanata—Carleton constituents with various federal issues, such as passport renewal applications, immigration inquiries, work permits, tax filing services, and more.
Assisting constituents in this way is some of the most personal and fulfilling work of being a Member of Parliament, but it wouldn’t be possible without my team and their compassion.
Spring Flooding Update
The flood levels are currently below what residents experienced in the spring of 2017 and 2019. However, residents whose properties and neighbourhoods have experienced flooding in the past 20 years should expect flooding this week. This includes Constance and Buckham’s Bay, along Barlow Crescent to Pinhey’s Point.
If your property is at risk, please reach out to West Carleton Disaster Relief at 613-447-4446. If it is an emergency situation, call 9-1-1.
Thank you to West-Carleton—March City Councillor Clarke Kelly and his office for compiling this report. This update, and subsequent updates, can be found on Councillor Kelly’s website.

International Day of Pink
Bullying is still very prevalent in schools and online with 2SLGBTQI+ youth experiencing higher rates of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse. These experiences can have devastating long-term health impacts that can include depression and anxiety, physical injury, emotional distress, and sometimes suicide.
These issues are not unique to our country, but I’m proud that the Day of Pink, a made-in-Canada cause, is helping young people around the world.
Budget 2023
